IDOM is a global, independent consulting, engineering, and architectural firm, fully owned by its 984 partners and staffed by 5,760 professionals with 68 years of collective experience. Serving clients in 125 countries, IDOM brings deep expertise in large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects.
ANAV operates the Ascó and Vandellós II nuclear power plants in the Tarragona province of Spain, where managing facility data with precision and safety is paramount.

WHAT WAS NEEDED

Managing extensive reality capture data across multiple nuclear sites demands accuracy, up-to-date digital models, and secure access for hundreds of users. Minimizing radiation exposure during project planning and execution was a critical priority. The challenge was to provide ANAV with a scalable solution that allows remote, collaborative access to large datasets within a highly regulated environment.

DEPLOYMENT

IDOM implemented Viinplan to manage thousands of 3D laser scans and panoramic images of the nuclear facilities. Using Viinplan’s update functionality, IDOM ensured the digital twin remained current and reliable. The platform is accessed by several hundred ANAV users distributed throughout their facilities, from control rooms to design departments. Viinplan supports remote planning, reducing the need for onsite presence and thus minimizing radiation exposure. It also enables seamless collaboration with real-time access to the latest plant conditions, helping teams make informed decisions faster and more safely.

LASTING IMPACT

By leveraging Viinplan, IDOM has empowered ANAV to manage complex reality capture data across critical nuclear infrastructure efficiently and safely. The solution supports a wide user base across the facility, driving enhanced collaboration, reduced onsite risk, and improved project outcomes in a highly sensitive and regulated environment.
